The Community Commons

The Community Commons is the heart of the campus and  connects all three of the residential facilities on two floors. Administrative offices and a variety of services and amenities are found within the community commons.

Body Beautiful Day Spa & Relaxation Center  hair care & spa services for both men and women. These salons are available at two separate locations on the main campus. More Info

The ElderSpa Wellness Center
is a workout facility designed especially for seniors. It offers unique strength training and cardiovascular equipment, a fitness room for exercise & wellness classes and a therapeutic pool set at a constant 91 degrees for aqua aerobics and water therapy classes. The underwater treadmill also offers a unique workout. More Info

The Epsten Gallery at Village Shalom is a two-story museum-quality viewing space designed to showcase high-quality art exhibits from around the country. The Gallery  is the Jewish community’s only professionally designed and operated art facility. The Kansas City Jewish Museum Foundation manages The Gallery as well as scheduling and publicizing all exhibits throughout the year. More Info

The Flo Harris Learning Connections Classroom
is available for various intergenerational learning opportunities including a special focus on multi-media usage. Each classroom is wired for Internet access as well as a home office for residents.

The Gerson Social Hall and Appleman Synagogue
are spacious gathering rooms for various programs, services and celebrations. Both areas are available to residents or community members for special occasions.

Hillcrest Bank
offers a full service banking location at Village Shalom for our residents and staff. Open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the banks office is located on the first floor of the Shalom Assisted Living Apartments. More Info

The Little Village & L'Dor Vador Outdoor Playground
are uniquely designed to make our young visitors feel right at home. One-of-a-kind outdoor equipment lets both children and seniors enjoy the outdoor play area together. Toys, TV/VCR and a computer are available for use in The Little Village.

Rachel’s Café
is our casual restaurant serving freshly-prepared kosher food to campus and Villa residents and visitors. Kosher catering for that special events on campus is also available. More Info and Sample Menus

Scheduled Transportation surrounding shopping, entertainment, dining, Menorah Medical Center and the Jewish Community Campus. Special days are dedicated to Doctor's visits and community field trips.

The R. Hugh "Pat" Uhlmann Family Library is our full service, volunteer run, library. The Uhlmann Library houses over 500 small print, large print and audio books that are available for check out at any time.

The Village Emporium offers items from books, to videos, to special senior-designed merchandise as well as gifts and convenience items. More Info
