Village Shalom Associate Board Planning 25th Annual Father’s Day Race

Village Shalom’s Associate Board has begun planning the 25th Father’s Day Run/Walk event, to be held Sunday, June 17, 2012. The group, which provides volunteer and leadership opportunities for Jewish young adults in the Kansas City area, sponsors the annual event to raise funds for Alzheimer’s disease and memory care services and programs at Village Shalom. The 5K/10K event is a sanctioned race under the auspices of the Mid-America Running Association.

Members of the 2012 Village Shalom Associate Board include, from left: Louis Cohn, Neil Miller, Alice Megerman, Mika Cohn, Merissa Rittmaster, Blaine Coppaken, Jeff Stolper (president), Todd Coppaken, Aaron Goldman, Brian Furey, Renee Polsky Silver, Becca Winner, Jennifer Polsky, Ruthie Bergman and Ariella Addadi.

Jeff Stolper is president of the Village Shalom Associate Board; Ariella Addadi and Todd Coppaken are race co-chairpersons. Members are Ashley Alpert, Jeremy Alpert, Ruthie Bergman, Michael Brown, Louis Cohn, Mika Cohn, Blaine Coppaken, Rachel Feldman, Brian Furey, Aaron Goldman, Michael Kricsfeld, Brad Jacobs, Jay Lieberman, Alice Megerman, Neil Miller, Jennifer Polsky, Renee Polsky Silver, Merissa Rittmaster, Sharna Rittmaster, Danielle Weeks and Becca Winner.

“This year’s race is going to be exceptional,” said Stolper. “Not only is it our 25th anniversary of the Associate Board sponsoring the race, but 2012 marks the 100th year that Village Shalom and its predecessor organizations have served the needs of Kansas City’s older adults. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as president of the Village Shalom Associate Board and to act on behalf of such an important organization in our community. We have a lot to celebrate, and we look forward to making this year’s event bigger and better than ever.”
