Director of Assisted Living | JCraft@VillageShalom.org
Jill knew working with seniors would be her calling early on. After earning a bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Kansas, she found herself on the ground floor of a new concept in healthcare known as assisted living. She has worked in the senior living industry ever since. In 2008, a travel-heavy position left Jill looking to find a better balance between work and personal life – she found it at Village Shalom.
Jill was born in Kansas City, but as a military child, spent a great deal of her early life moving throughout the Southwest. Her family eventually settled in Manhattan, Kansas where she spent the majority of her formative years. Today, Jill and her son (Joey) love their current home in Lawrence – even with the long daily commute. Jill’s mom and dad still reside in “Manhappiness,” and she has one brother (Jeremy) who lives in Sante Fe, New Mexico.
Meet Jill and you’ll find she is a bit of a “Pollyanna” – a positive thinker who always looks to find the good in every situation. Good food is a passion of hers and she loves cooking delicious meals with her son. She also likes to stay active, and enjoys exercise and outdoor activities like hiking and biking. Most of all, Jill just wants to appreciate the moment and enjoy the time she can share with her friends, family and residents.
