Vice President of Hospitality Services | PHerder@VillageShalom.org
By way of Oklahoma, Iraq and Ohio, Paul’s path to Village Shalom is marked with many stops along the way. Before being named Village Shalom’s first-ever Vice President of Hospitality Services in 2018, Paul led the dining, facilities, housekeeping and laundry operations for Asbury Communities – a group of continuing-care retirement communities in the Tulsa area. He previously served as a general manager for restaurants in Oklahoma and Ohio.
Before joining the restaurant ranks, Paul held rank in the 1st Ranger Battalion for the United States Army, with which he was deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan during his four years of active service.
O-H-I-O is home for Herder. He’s originally from the Cleveland area. He’s a graduate of The Ohio State University where, when he wasn’t in “The Shoe” cheering-on his Buckeyes, he earned his bachelor’s degree in social sciences and a certificate in dietary management. He has a daughter who lives in Washington D.C., and his mother still lives in Cleveland.
When he isn’t working, Paul likes a good book and an even better round of golf. He watches golf, too. (He’s a Tiger guy). His falls are filled with football, where the Saturday highs he experiences with his alma-mater, are typically quelled on Sundays by his beloved Browns.
