Kansas City's Walk the Land 65 to Kick Off at Village Shalom
Israel will celebrate its 65th birthday on April 16. To commemorate, Jewish communities all over the globe will walk the land. Walk the Land 65 is a show of solidarity and support for communities across the globe as they walk to honor Israel’s many gifts to the world. Village Shalom is honored to serve as the starting point for Kansas City’s Walk the Land 65.
Participants will gather at Village Shalom beginning at 5:15 p.m. A free shuttle will be available to transport people from the Jewish Community Campus to Village Shalom from 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. The first 100 participants will receive a Walk the Land 65 t-shirt. The first 200 participants will receive a seed packet in celebration of Israel @65. Participants will take the short walk through The Villas at Village Shalom at 5:45 p.m., to the Jewish Community Campus for the Yom HaAtzmaut celebration at 6:00 p.m. Yom HaAtzmaut participants will enjoy Israeli food, games, a photo booth, and an outdoor viewing of A Matter of Size.
There is no fee or registration to participate in Walk the Land 65 or the Yom HaAtzmaut celebration. Food will be available at the Yom HaAtzmaut celebration for a nominal fee.
