Director of Dining Services | JLegrand@VillageShalom.org
John took over as head of the dining services department in 2015 after serving in a similar role at Aberdeen Heights Senior Living in Kirkwood, Missouri. John has a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Missouri State University and an MBA from Lindenwood University.
John’s a Missouri man of the Mississipi through and through. He was born in the small town of Washington, Missouri and hasn’t permanently left the state since – having only otherwise resided in Columbia, St. Louis, Springfield and Kansas City. John’s parents and his younger sister all still hang their hats in the St. Louis area.
While his roots are in Missouri, John’s branches are spread across the globe. He has been fortunate to travel all over the world and, so far, his favorite spot for a sabbatical is the scenic city of Florence, Italy. John loves to hike, cook and cheer on his favorite team – the St. Louis Cardinals (something we promise not to hold against him). John’s also been known to go by the beat of his own drum – literally. Yes, he’s a drummer and is passionate about all things music. He enjoys a good concert, but for him nothing beats a good original-label vinyl to add to his extensive record collection.
