Ways to Give

As a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) proudly serving the Greater Kansas City area, Village Shalom provides first-class care to seniors from all walks of life—each with their own unique story and circumstance.

Why Village Shalom?

As a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) proudly serving the Greater Kansas City area, Village Shalom provides first-class care to seniors from all walks of life—each with their own unique story and circumstance.

Regardless of how or why they came to Village Shalom, our residents are all alike in one way—they benefit from the generosity of others. A donation to Village Shalom insures engaging and stimulating programming, financial assistance, capital improvements, and general operations are all maintained so that our residents may reside in a safe and comfortable home.

Make an Impact

Currently, one-third of our residents rely solely on financial assistance. The Financial Assistance Program at Village Shalom subsidizes residential care, medical care, and treatment services for seniors whom no longer have the financial means to pay for the cost of their care.  Seniors are outliving their financial resources at an alarming rate, often with acute illnesses. This, coupled with decreasing third-party-payer assistance, creates a perfect storm of financial burden. Despite the challenging climate of senior care, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide holistic care to all whom we are privileged to serve. With a donation to our Annual Fund, we can ensure residents receive the utmost care and services with dignity, respect, and compassion.

Together, with your support, we can alleviate an unprecedented stress for so many families.

Sokolov was offered the opportunity after a representative from the book's publishing house saw him featured on Fox 4 News still exercising at 100 years old and recognized his unique longevity.
