Welcome The First Rays Of Summer At The Village Shalom Father’s Day Run
As the sun rises on the first day of summer 2015 – Sunday, June 21, to be exact – hundreds of runners and walkers will be gathering for another important annual occurrence: the 28th Village Shalom Father’s Day Run/Walk. The Village Shalom Associate Board has already begun planning this popular community-wide 5K/10K event, which is sanctioned under the auspices of the Mid-America Running Association.
The Associate Board is currently seeking sponsors and contributors to ensure the event’s success. Proceeds from the Father’s Day Run will benefit programs and services at Village Shalom for residents and families facing the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The run/walk is the major annual fundraising event sponsored by the Village Shalom Associate Board, a group that provides volunteer and leadership opportunities for Jewish young adults in the Kansas City area. In addition to the 5- and 10-kilometer main event, the Father’s Day Run will feature a Kids’ Fun Run and pancake breakfast by Chris Cakes.
Members of the 2015 Village Shalom Associate Board are (seated, from left): Danielle Wertheim; Lisa Stolper, race co-chairperson; Madeline Mayer; Renee Polsky Silver, president; (standing): Aaron Price; Carrie Grossman; Whitney Klein; Abby Golbuff; Jeff Stolper; Zak Rose-Reneau; Greg Blackman; Neil Miller, race co-chairperson.
