As we celebrate CNA Week, we’re recognizing the dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants who provide compassionate senior care and enrich the lives of residents every day. One of those champions is Daniel Delgado.

Daniel joined Village Shalom a year and a half ago because he was looking for more than just a job. He wanted to be part of a senior living community that values dignity, connection, and helping older adults age in place with comfort and purpose.

“I appreciated that Village Shalom fosters a place for everyone to build lasting and meaningful relationships with residents and the ‘village’ of people who provide quality care for anyone in need,” Daniel says.

Inspired by a Mission of Care

What stood out most to Daniel was Village Shalom’s commitment to caring for the whole person—meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of older adults.

“I joined Village Shalom because of its ability to meet the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the elderly in a profound way. One of the most powerful values of Village Shalom is Tikkun Olam; the ability to repair or heal the world by helping one person. I believe that the staff at Village Shalom embody what it means to care for others and preserve a culture of honor for everyone.”

Daniel’s commitment to serving others reflects the values that guide Village Shalom’s approach to senior living, memory care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and assisted living.

Going Above and Beyond

As a CNA, Daniel provides compassionate care, support, and encouragement to residents every day. But his impact doesn’t stop there.

When extra help is needed, Daniel is often one of the first to step up. In addition to his responsibilities as a Certified Nursing Assistant, he has filled in at the reception desk and volunteered many hours in the Development Office, assisting with fundraising campaigns, special projects, mailings, and community events, including the Village Shalom Father’s Day Run.

His willingness to serve wherever needed reflects the teamwork, compassion, and sense of community that make Village Shalom a trusted senior living and memory care provider in the Kansas City area.

A Champion of Care

In July 2025, Daniel was honored with the Joseph and Eleanor Wolff Excellence in Care Giving Award in recognition of the exceptional care he provides to residents and families.

During CNA Week, we celebrate the countless ways Certified Nursing Assistants improve quality of life for older adults. Daniel exemplifies that spirit every day through his kindness, dedication, and commitment to helping others.

Whether he’s caring for residents, greeting visitors at the front desk, or lending a hand behind the scenes, Daniel helps make Village Shalom a stronger community.

Thank you, Daniel, for all you do. We are proud to recognize you as both a CNA Week honoree and one of our Summer of Champions.
