Celebrating Everyday Excellence at Village Shalom
Summer of Champions
At Village Shalom, champions aren’t defined by trophies or titles — they’re defined by heart, perseverance, and the way people show up for one another every day.
What is the Summer of Champions?
The Summer of Champions brings together stories, celebrations, and events that highlight excellence in all its forms — from personal milestones and acts of kindness to athletic achievements, creative expression, and lifelong dedication to service.
Inspired by global moments like the FIFA World Cup and the Maccabi Games, and anchored by beloved Village Shalom traditions such as the Father’s Day Run, this theme connects the spirit of competition with something even more powerful: community.
Everyday Champions
Our everyday champions are all around us.
They are residents pursuing wellness, creativity, and connection.
They are team members who go above and beyond with compassion and care.
They are volunteers and supporters who give their time, energy, and generosity to strengthen our mission.
Throughout the summer, this page will feature Champion Spotlights — stories that celebrate the people who make Village Shalom extraordinary.
Do you know a champion we should recognize?
We’d love to share their story.
Email UsBe Part of the Father’s Day Run
The Father’s Day Run is a signature Village Shalom event and a highlight of our Summer of Champions, celebrating the everyday champions who strengthen our community.
Join us on the Helzberg Campus for Jewish Living for a 5K, 10K, and Kids Fun Run—plus a fun, festival-style morning with food trucks, music, bounce houses, beer tents, and activities for all ages. Proceeds support Village Shalom’s Memory Support Programs for residents living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Not racing? We need volunteers to help make the day a success. Whether you run, cheer, or lend a hand, there’s a place for you at the Father’s Day Run.
