As part of our Summer of Champions, we’re proud to highlight the remarkable people who bring Village Shalom’s mission to life each day. Crystal is one of those champions.
As a Charge Nurse, Crystal truly takes charge of her neighborhood. She knows what is happening with her residents and steps in quickly when something needs attention. Her care goes far beyond monitoring physical health—Crystal is deeply attuned to the emotional and spiritual needs of the residents she serves.
One weekend, a resident shared with Crystal that she believed he was nearing the end of his life and that his priest would not be available until Tuesday. Recognizing how important that moment was, Crystal acted immediately. She arranged for the Hospice chaplain to visit him that very same day, ensuring he received the spiritual support he needed when it mattered most.
Crystal’s warm, upbeat personality shines through in every conversation with residents, helping create a sense of comfort and connection throughout her neighborhood.
In recognition of her dedication and compassionate care, Crystal was also voted Village Shalom’s February Rookie of the Month. We are grateful for the heart and leadership she brings to our community every day.
