Celebrating 25 Years on the Helzberg Campus
On Sunday, September 7, more than 200 community members, residents, and families came together to celebrate Village Shalom’s 25th anniversary on the Helzberg Campus. The day was filled with gratitude, stories, and shared memories—marked by smiles, warm hugs, and even a few joyful tears.
Shirley and Barnett Helzberg, Jr. served as Honorary Chairs for the celebration, a meaningful connection to their vision and generosity that helped bring the Helzberg Campus to life 25 years ago. Along with countless donors, volunteers, and community leaders, their dedication has allowed Village Shalom’s mission to grow and thrive.
Highlights of the day included:
- Legacy Family Posters, sharing the stories of families whose ties to Village Shalom span generations.
- A commemorative video shown in the Gould Theater, capturing voices, milestones, and memories from across the decades.
- Live music, delicious food, and a signature anniversary cocktail, enjoyed alongside meaningful conversations between residents, families, and friends.
As Village Shalom President Simon Abrahms shared:
“This milestone was never just about marking time. It was about honoring the lives touched—families who have found peace of mind knowing their loved ones are cared for with dignity and respect, residents who have called Village Shalom home, and a Jewish community that treasures the responsibility of caring for its elders.”
